While customer service software like Zendesk exists many online shops still use a regular email client like Gmail to handle inquiries from their customers.

Online shops need a often quite similar set of features to efficiently communicate with their customers. At the same time most features offered by general purpose customer service software are irrelevant in ecommerce.

So maybe you can build something better.

What do you get from Goaddon?

By subscribing to the Goexplore addon you get a website that online shops can use to sign up.

By subscribing to the Gofetch addon you enable the merchants to import their orders and products into your database.

If you install the explorer-at-goexplore repository, your website even get products and order pages you could add buttons to.

What do you need to build on top of it?

So by now you have a website where a shop can sign up and enable the recurring import of orders and products into your database.

You need to add am inbox where the stores customer support staff can review enquiries. Whenever an enquiry is opened you should scan mail address, subject line and the content body and search your database for matching customers and orders.

Aside from that you need to build IMAP functionality to receive enquiries and SMTP functionality send replies. For that you need to integrate with an application of your own.

How fast can you build it?

Building a proof of concept inbox and other communication features should not take more than a few months. Setting up IMAP and SMTP should take a few additional months.
